Expressive

This type of aesthetic experience involves participation in an arts event that has a preponderance of creativity, self-expression, or improvisation.  One foundation for this type is from Benedetto Croce , who argued that art is expression.
At any rate, this response, either as a participant or an observer, is to the creativity itself, rather than the artistic product.  Of course, it can be experienced simultaneously with other types of experience.  Therefore, we can be moved “expressively” when we hear a musician improvise something that is unique and creative, and also respond to the CLASSIC elements of music that are being performed, as well as the ROMANTIC – SENTIMENTAL feeling in the performance.
It’s an important type of aesthetic response to experience when you create art of some kind yourself.  We encourage people to express themselves through visual art (in particular), but also dance, music, drama, and other disciplines/media.
